Our chamber has two missions: to help refugee children across the globe and to give opportunities to children here in Washington. We host concerts throughout the year to raise funds to donate to children in politically unstable countries. Every week, we meet with students with mental disabilities or students who cannot afford their own instruments to teach them to play the violin and cello. We collect instruments from concerts and other donations for students to learn with. The NWYC & NEWGEN CHOIR provides an opportunity for young musicians to experience, learn, and grow in the world of music.

Experience is our greatest teacher. NWYC works to create experiences that are just as fun as they are meaningful, where students feel excited to grow, safe to fail, and better equipped for whatever comes their way next. We see students build self confidence through our programs. Our chamber inspires more active participation in leadership opportunities and community involvement for high schoolers, as well as offer college scholarships.
